Which creationists are the major players in the creation vs. evolution debate? Which have the best scientific credentials?
Major Players
Because Answers in Genesis is now the most well-known anti-evolution organization, Ken Ham, their president, is the most well-known—and perhaps the most influential creationist.
Other major players include:
- Henry Morris, Institute of Creation Research
- Walt Brown
- Kent Hovind, Dr. Dino (now in jail for tax evasion)
- Duane Gish
- George Howe, Creation Research Society
As I've said on other pages, I do not like to use the term creationist, as though these believers accept creation while theistic evolutionists, like myself, do not. It's not true. I am a creationist because I believe that God created all things, but I do not reject evolution.
Most Credentialed Creationists
Well-known or not, some young earthers have advanced scientific degrees, work in important positions, and have had papers published in scientific journals.
- Dr. John Baumgardner, Ph.D. in Geophysics, works at Los Alamos General Laboratory
- Dr. Robert Gentry, M.S. in Physics and an honorary doctorate
- Dr. Ben Carson, Library of Congress Living Legend
